THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH
The congregation of St. James Episcopal Church opens its doors, hearts in warm, sincere fellowship to all newcomers and visitors. St. James is made up of caring individuals from many different backgrounds who have joined together to share and spread the good news that Jesus Christ is God's son, born as a man, died on the cross, and arose from the grave,to save us.
The Bible is the basis of our faith. The heart of our services is the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist (the Lord's Supper).
We are a part of the American branch of the Anglican Communion, the worldwide fellowship of churches begun by the historic Church of England. The name "Episcopal" comes from the Greek word in the New Testament meaning Bishop. Our bishop is The Right Reverend Peter Beckwith.
Please visit http://www.episcopalspringfield.com for more information about our faith.
We sincerely invite you and anyone looking for a church home to worship with us this Sunday and every Sunday.
