Ellie Mae Manago, 78, of Phoenix, Arizonia, and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 1997, at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoneix. She was a retired nurse from Chicago State Hospital in Chicago.
She was born on September 20, 1919, in Hamilton County, a daughter of Clyde and Lora (Miller) Cross. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church near Dale.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 1997, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. John Lee Jr. officiated. Burial was in Smith Cemetery near Dale.
She is survived by a brother, Clyde Cross of Claremore, Arizonia; a sister, LaVerne Webb of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, Melvin hatchell and Joseph J. Manago.
